Widen Main Content Area in Twenty Fourteen

  • hello, I am using the Twenty Fourteen theme for my site at floatingplanetstudio.com and I want to widen the main content area (white middle area) so that my paintings can show larger. I installed the Simple Custom CSS plugin so I could make a couple other changes but I don’t know what code to put in to widen this area (it seems to be only 474 px wide- I’d prefer the content to take us as much of the white space as possible- so maybe 850 or 900 wide?) Thanks in advance for your help!

    Clarification- I don’t want the white space to be wider, I just want the content to fill it better (since I am not using the additional right widget area).
