Widget allowing Users to log in to a private page

Hi all,

I want to use a login widget on the home page that lets registers users of any level redirect to a private page, which in turn will have links to other private pages. A logout widget on these pages is a necessity.

The plug in login with Ajax – won’t allow subscribers access to a private page.

Other plugins use the wp login page and don’t give the choice to redirect to any page.

I know enough to get into trouble, but not enough to get out.
