• Hi,

I have a link on my home page that is password protected.

    https://www.sitesbysarah.com/wp.

The link is on the right hand side and it is called “The lone Star Gardener”.

The actual “Lone Star Gardener” page has a widget in the right column that lists all the newsletter subscriptions for the year. Some of these subscriptions list directories with members personal info. I don’t want this info made public, so made the page password protected.

But the widget appears on both the page that you enter the “password” and on the main “lone star gardener” page. I don’t want it to appear on the password page. Sort of defeats what I am trying to do. If it appears on the page that asks for the password, then anyone can still click on the newsletter and see everyone’s personal info.

Is there a way I can make the widget appear only on the “lone star” page?

    Thanks,
    Sarb

  • Hi, to make the widget appear only on that page you could use Custom Sidebars plugin
    https://www.ads-software.com/plugins/custom-sidebars/
to create a sidebar specifically for that page and add the widget there.

However, please note that anyone with the link to the pdf can share it and access it. For that, you should use a membership plugin that allows access only to registered users.

    Hi Elio,

Thanks for the info. I am going to use this on some of the other pages. Really works well.

BUT even with the custom sidebar, the list of publications is still showing up on the password protected page. If you go to:

    https://www.sitesbysarah.com/wp

Click on the “Lone Star Gardener” in the right hand column. You will see that the publications are still showing up on the password protected page. Ugh!! Any thoughts???

    Thanks,
    Saranee
