Widget Areas should stick to the browser viewport

  • The linked page is a Trac ticket from a long time ago, which has just been closed due to the widget interface having been changed to blocks, so the core team won’t fix it.

    However, Classic Widgets can be better by implementing this, and it seems to be pretty much resolved in the ticket.
