widget background cannot be changed

    Main sidebar widget is a slide show. originally had the background colour set as transparent in the additional CSS. I had to do a modification today to change the header image, and I notice the background colour of the affected widget is showing up as black. I went back into the Additional CSS to change the background to white, and no effect.

    I am using Google Chrome on a Windows 10 desktop PC. Issue is noted using Microsoft Edge as well. Site is hosted by WordPress. They refer support of this nature to this forum
