• I really like the idea of this widget but I encounter a major issue with it – when the widgets are moved the contents are deleted.

Yesterday I lost the contents of 10 widgets in one hit – I think as a result of dragging one into the inactive widget box.

I’m amazed no-one else has mentioned this problem as I see it happen often and its a very negative effect.
This makes me think it might be a plugin conflict.

Can you give me any advice on this?

Otherwise an awesome plugin – this functionality should really be standard on wordpress installs. Most users don’t want to edit HTML for their front page and sidebar widgets.

I’d like to also mention a great plugin which completments this widget – the Rich Tax editor – does the same thing for category, tags etc https://www.ads-software.com/extend/plugins/rich-tax-description-editor/

    Thanks

    Hi dallasm,
I made some tests, and I experienced a problem, which is not related to my plugin specifically, but it’s a WP behaviour.
If you drag a widget (any type of widget) from a sidebar to the “Available widgets” panel that widget is killed and not recoverable in any way, even if when dragging it says “Deactivate widget”, not “Delete widget” on the box title.
I would expect that the “Available widgets” panel should not be a drop target for widgets when dragging them.
Is this the same problem you are experiencing?

P.s. Thanks for Rich Tax editor mention, it sounds interesting.
