Widget custom links

Addes a Foogallery (jFree version) and put up one pic to see if things work like I want to.
Set the ‘Link to’ setting to ‘Custom url’ so the appropriate page will load instead of the picture. Put up the Foogallery widget at the bottom of the sidebar.

I expected that ckliking the thumbnail would send met to the custom link that I added to the picture using ‘WP gallery custom links’. Clicking the thumbnail however still results in showing the large image instead of the page.

How can I change this behaviour?
