Widget images too small

I like this plugin – very simple and easy to use. I have installed the same slide show on a page:

and in a sidebar

In both cases I am having trouble sizing the display of the images. On the page it is larger, but not as large as the images (and does not respond to changing max image size). On the sidebar the pictures are very small.

Resolution of this one problem will determine whether I can use this plugin or not (which in turn would determine stars and a donation).
