Recently (in the past few days) all instances of a widget (Widget Responsive for Youtube by Stefano Ai) have simply disappeared from all of our Content Aware Sidebars. Other widgets in them (text, mostly) have remained.

There haven’t been recent updates to the Youtube widget)

I’m certainly not saying CAS is related, but I thought I’d check to see if anyone here has any idea what might be happening.

There have been no errors reported and everything is up to date.

Thank you for reporting this. Is this still and issue?

To verify if the problem is caused by a conflict with CAS, have you tried to disable CAS to see if that resolves the issue?

It’s not an issue in the sense that we were able to replace the Youtube widget back into each sidebard and re add our videos.

However we still don’t know why the widget disappeared in the first place.

We didn’t try disabling CAS because we have other content in the custom sidebars which did not disappear and we didn’t want to risk losing that.

So, a mystery. If have any insights, or suggestions for troubleshooting, I’d appreciate it.

Is there any way to keep a record/document what is in each sidebar so that rebuilding can be made a little easier if necessary? Maybe a table in the WordPress database that can be exported?

WordPress stores sidebars and widgets in wp_options, but in general I highly recommend taking regular backups of your whole site/all tables.

CAS sidebar settings are stored in wp_posts with post_type=sidebar.

    I hope this helps!
