• Hi all,

Very new to wordpress and have a question regarding widgets. I am designing a site that is mainly static css/html with a sub directory in which I installed wordpress to take advantage a a few plugins and so far it seems to be working (yay!) but I wanted to find out if there is any way to use the widget for a particular plugin in the sub directory on the main static html page. Is there any way of embedding it or is that an impossibility?

    Thanks for any help. ??

  • No You will not be able to use widgets on a html page from subdirectory as the widgets are coded in php and they will only work on wordpress.

An option you have that could help you however is that you could convert your existing website to wordpress, then add the widgets that way. I don’t know how complex your website is, but I have converted websites in a few hours for simple ones.

Thanks for the answers. I had hopes but I guess it wasn’t meant to be. I will look into conversion of the site.
