Hi,

I have encountered some problems with Widget Logic. Earlier it was working perfectly and couldn’t be happier but after working on the site the front page doesn’t follow the rules anymore.

For example I have a News Letter widget that should be on the front page but isn’t. All I am using is !in_category(array(467)) to not have it on my blog page, the 467 is the category. (I am doing the same with a recent posts widget)

https://www.seesomething.com.au/ This is my homepage where they aren’t showing
https://www.seesomething.com.au/category/blog/ This is the blog page where they aren’t supposed to be following the category ID
https://www.seesomething.com.au/about/ this is an example of where the newsletter widget and the top five posts isn’t working

I just don’t understand why they aren’t coming up on the homepage anymore? When they clearly should be and have been in the past.

There seems to be something wrong with the in_category the in part. Everything else is working fine.

It’s like there’s in_category issues on the homepage

consider to try is_category() https://codex.www.ads-software.com/Function_Reference/is_category

compare with https://codex.www.ads-software.com/Function_Reference/in_category

all conditional tags https://codex.www.ads-software.com/Conditional_Tags

If I put this on a widget !in_category( ‘blog’ ) then it doesn’t appear in the blog category. But it also doesn’t appear on the home page. Every other page is correct, but the homepage. Which is my issue, I want it on the home page. I want it everywhere except in that category.

is_front_page() && is_home() && in_category( ‘blog’ )

This blocks a widget from the homepage successfully and places it in the blog category. So I have this working the way that I want it ??
