• Hi there,

Today, I noticed that I couldn’t use your plugin on “Categories” Widget. Once activated, whenever I click on “Edit” it just deactivates again.

Is this normal? How can I prevent “Categories” Widget from appearing in certain sections of my blog?

Thanks in advance for your help!

  • not seeing this on the first blog i tried it on.

put in is_author(‘Alan’) and the categories widget only shows up on my author page

do you get the same behaviour on the ‘default’ theme?

    Hi there,

I can’t even edit the Categories widget. Whenever I click on “edit” it automatically gets removed from the sidebar. Maybe I’m seeing a WordPress bug here? I’m on 2.6.2.

Yes it is indeed a WP bug (or at least a non-expected behavior). You can’t edit the Categories Widget right after you add it to your sidebar.

Unlike the rest of widgets, with Categories widget you need to save changes first, then once the Widgets page reloads you can go and edit it.

    Weird, isn’t it?

Anyways, I have been able to apply php logic to this widget so I guess the problem is solved.

    Cheers! Great plugin btw!
