Widget Only

I added this widget thinking I can have author bio in the sidebar of the theme I have. However, it seems like it inserts the same info at the footer of individual posts/pages. Is there a way to disable this behavior? I only want the info showing up specifically where I place it (ie as a widget in the sidebar).
