Widget padding or margins

Hi there,

Your HTML structure looks like it’s been edited. Are you overwriting any footer template files or using any footer related functions in your child theme?

Yes, I see this footer.php in my child theme – but I don’t remember why it is there . I remember wanting to customize the text in my footer, though. Should I just delete this footer.php file?

Yea, I’m not seeing any reason for that file to be in there. I would remove it.
