I am not sure if this is the source of the problem, as this is the WordPress Default theme. I have not edited anything in here. If you want to have a look at the output, see https://word.chaos.co.za/

I have just noticed the following in the error logs:
PHP Fatal error: Allowed memory size of 33554432 bytes exhausted (tried to allocate 7680 bytes) in /XX/public_html/website/gallery2/modules/imageframe/module.inc on line 45

There are a few similar such lines. I have also installed the WP-Serverinfo plugin. This indicates that the PHP Memory Limit is 32M but I do have the line:
memory_limit = 64M
in the php.ini

Problem seems to have resolved. The above post was last night. This morning, WP-Serverinfo indicated that the memory limit is now 64M. I am now able to activate all the plugins, including ones that I initially thought were incompatible.

Maybe depending on your system (linux, win) or host (own machine, bluehost, whatever), the memory limit setting takes some time to get active.

Conclusion: don’t rely on the fact that you have adjusted the settings. Use something (WP-Serverinfo) to check if the settings has actually changed in the operating environment.
