widget page download problem

  • When I go to the widgets page, I get a “(6 items remaining) waiting for http….” notice in the lower left, while the green bar makes it about 2/5 of the way across the page-download indicator, and than just stays there flashing indefinitely. Changes I make while on the widgets page during this time are saved and appear the next time I come to the page (like changing the number of recent posts to be shown from 15 to 30), but they do not take effect (only 15 recent posts are shown on my home page). I’m stuck; I have no idea what to do. Any suggestions?

  • Have you tried:

    – deactivating all plugins to see if this resolves the problem? If this works, re-activate the plugins one by one until you find the problematic plugin(s).

    – switching to the default theme to rule out any theme-specific problems?
