• The text in my footer sidebars 1,3 and 4 was too large (same size as regular page text) so I went into the widgets and tried to use html to adjust the size and line spacing of the text. That was working on sidebar 3 and 4 (text widgets), but the first sidebar was a form to fill in with contact information. I tried typing the codes in right with the text and saved the widget. (a beginner’s mistake, I guess!) Now the widget sections on the dashboard don’t work. I can’t delete the unwanted information and the two side bars have dropped into the footer area. Is there a way to go back to an earlier version of the website? I did try reloading WordPress 4.8, but that didn’t fix it. The layout on the dashboard page has changed in the same areas. The sidebar 1 won’t close, can’t be deleted, etc. The sidebars 3,4 and following have dropped to the lower left of the page. Nothing on the page seems functional. The result can be seen at

    ops. That’s at https://monumentpc.org/ .

Do you have a recent backup of the database? If yes, then restore would help

I’m really a neophyte at this. I’m just starting to help my son update a website at his church that he’s just inherited. Under “plug-ins” I discovered UpdraftPlus -Backup/Restore. When I click on “settings,” it looks like a backup from today and one from yesterday do exist- if this free plug in is working right. When I click on “database” (of the choices –Database,Plugins,Themes,Uploads,Others) I have the option of downloading to my computer or deleting from the server. To the right are also 3 buttons – backup, restore, and view log. If it’s a backup from hours before I made my mistake, would it be safe to just click on the “restore” button? Boy, if I do, I’ll be holding my breath! Should the website just end up looking like it did about 2pm this afternoon?
