I’m using the Woocommerce Widget for Product Categories with the option “show only children of current category” to make the category list shorter. The only problem is, that the categories which habe subcategories are not marked by any icon. So the user will not see, that there are subcategories unless he clicks on the parent category. Is there any solution which will mark the categories which can be extended with an icon as e.g. + or down arrow?

  • Hi @gabyrau

    Thanks for reaching out!

Can you please provide further details about the Product Categories widget you are referring to here that provides the option show only children of current category?

If a screenshot would be helpful, I’d recommend using https://snipboard.io or https://skitch.com/. You can share the direct link to the image as a response to this topic.

On my personal site, I only have the Product Categories List widget as seen below:

Under the Settings menu on the right part, I am not seeing the option show only children of current category

If this was added thru a third-party plugin or a custom code, it would be best to reach out to the developers for further assistance here.

    Thanks!

So sorry, I did not see your answer until today, because I wasn’t notified although I selected the option.

Please find here a screenshot describing my question:

On the left you see the widget in the backend (classic widgets). The 2 screenshots on the right show the frontend. There are categories as e.g. “Chirurgie” which have subcategories, But this is not indicated unless you click on this category. I’d like to have any sign, e.g. a plus-sign to show the users that there are subcategories. You can find the example above on https://docskills.de, e.g. https://docskills.de/kategorie/allgemeinmedizin/

    Thank you.

    Hello,

As an alternative solution, you can try the Category and Subcategory list widget, please note it is not a plugin supported by us directly. In case you have further questions, you will need to contact their support.

I hope this points you in the right direction.
