Widget remove from cart button with ajax

WP e-Commerce version: 3.8.12.1Why does the clear cart option use ajax, but the remove from cart button forces the page to reload? The only suggestion that came up in a search was this: sidebar-widget-remove-button-ajaxified, which did not work for me. It references plugin version 3.8.8.
Is there a way to implement this (or another solution) with the latest version?
