• Hi everybody,
    I’m new in this forum, I’m a new wordpress’s user ??

I write here because I habe a little problem with my layout.
I would use Atahualpa theme. So I install and I haven’t problem about.

Now I would add a widget in the right sidebar. This is for me impossible!

I chose Right Sidebar and I click show. It’s gone.
Now I would add my widget, so I chose the widget and I click add.

    What happen?
When I click add, the Right Sidebar become Left Sidebar and the widget is now in the Left Sidebar.

I have tried different widget but I haven’t another template with three columns to try.

    Can anyone help me?

    Thankyou very much.
    Have a great day.
    Davide

  • Hi,

Yeah, I’m having a similar difficulty – have tried two versions of Alhualpa 3.1.8 and 3.2 and in neither can I get the right sidebar to display in the front/home page in IE7.

    Please can you advise, BytesForAll?

    Many thanks,

    Laura

So the issue I have noticed is that in your post (the main center content) there is some string of code that IE does not recognize, partially because they are not up to W3C standards, anyways. There can be a few things that cause it. The reason this happened is because you copied and pasted from word, probably and there was extra meta data that came along with it.

    How to fix it:
Edit the post (you may have to edit a few until this works because it may be an old post) Go to the HTML page and get rid of EVERYTHING that is not necessary above the first <p> tag. That should do the trick.

Example, you a few posts from the last 3 days and you just noticed the right column is gone in IE!!! You checked it after the first post and everything was fine. Now the “extra” code or meta data is in the second or third post, follow the above directions and the column should magically re appear.

I really hope this helps, good luck!

I have this same problem, and I’ve seen it in several other places in the forums. But nowhere have I seen a solution. My theme is YGo Horizon, and I have made no changes to the right sidebar. It’s already set up for widgets, but no matter what I do I can’t get an RSS widget to appear in the right sidebar. I select sidebar 2 before I add the widget, but it always goes to sidebar 1. It works okay for some widgets, for example, adding a text widget. But it always defaults to sidebar 1 for RSS. And also for a search box, even though one is already built into sidebar 2. What would be different?
