Widget Search Box CSS Help

i am trying to override the white background that loads withe the widget initially.

i am able to override it with css, but it takes several seconds for my css override to take effect.

i thought i found the correct file:

here:
wp-content/plugins/wp-e-commerce-predictive-search/assets/js/ajax-autocomplete

called:
jquery.autocomplete.css

i tried changing all instances of FFF with 000 (black)
i also tried other things but im just looking for a bit of help on what exactly needs changed.

i hope thats not an advanced feature LOL
