Widget to put images in sidebar

Is there an easy way to put an image that is already in the media library into the sidebar, without having to search your hosting files for the correct URL from the uploads folder and use an HTML img tag?

This seems to me something that a lot of non-savvy site owners would probably like to do and if it doesn’t exist it would be nice to have a standard widget for it.
