Widget tries to load – not successful

    This plugin was working wonderfully, but I noticed today it is not working. I was looking into the issue and recognized this notice on the widget I created using the Facebook Widget Plugin.

    “Your PHP configuration does not allow to read this file. To unable language option, enable allow_url_fopen in your server configuration.”

    Does this version update have to do with why it is no longer showing on my site?
    “Version 4.2
    Facebook has deprecated language URL, so now added static json file to read languages.”

    I do not want to set anything to allow_url_fopen. I am curious if your plugin will be updated and include measures to for this security issue. Is this an issue for anyone else? If the JSON file is being used – Is it JSON that is not working in my case?

    I fixed this problem after some tinkering. I had the Application ID number along with URL. I guess they do not like to co-mingle?

    I removed the Application ID and now the plug-in works.
