Widget Vanishing

I can see in the source code that the widget is disappearing due to a timeout on the data source’s api gateway. Is this due to using a free api account on OpenWeatherMap? If yes, I would imagine this problem will only get worse as others continue to download and use your (awesome) widget.

Would it be possible to require us end users to get our own api key and plug it into the plugin settings to overcome this issue?
