• I was loading up Jetpack in my site and one of the functions I was planning to use was the Widget Visibility. Low and behold, it’s missing a very important setting….an Post ID field. So if I want to show a widget on a particular post, I cannot; one needs a post id field.

The plugin Display Widgets has that feature where you choose “Post” then in a text field, you add the Post ID.

I strongly recommend the Jetpack team considers adding this to the Widget Visibility module, because Display Widgets is kicking your butt on that feature ??

…trust me, that is a very flexible feature to have.

    Jetpack Mechanic ??

That’s indeed something that’s missing from the Widget Visibility module. Strangely very few people have asked for it until now, but I took note of your request! If it ever becomes more popular we’ll consider adding it to Jetpack.

    Thanks for the feedback!

I doubt you have not heard much from others because they are not aware of that functionality and probably don’t realize it’s something that could really benefit 1000’s (at least) of users. There could be many who don’t see it there, and simply go find a plugin that can do that…such as Display Widgets.

I develop WordPress themes and even I didn’t realize this was missing until I added Jetpack to my own site, even though I’ve used Jetpack many times before. I was quite surprised of this discovery.

I would recommend not to think in the way of “if it ever becomes more popular…”, and simply add it to a future version (hopefully not too far down the road).
