    Hi
My sidebar contains a ‘Latest Posts’ widget. When I add a new post, only the sidebar of the new post is updated to show the new post. All other pages/posts sidebars do not show that there has been a new post added as they are being served cached versions. This is pretty pointless if I have to clear the whole cache of every page/post when I add or update just one post. Widgets need to be handled separately. Do I need to change a setting somewhere? Or is this just the way it is?

This also happens on the category page, the archive page, the author page….This makes life difficult for a ‘blog’ where Latest posts, archive, category and author views are very common features, let alone sidebars.
If you have to clear the whole cache every time a post is made then this plugin seems to offer very little benefit.

I see some degree of control is available via the ‘Timeout’ settings, but this doesn’t help the sidebar issue at all and you are stuck with a fixed schedule. The Pages/Posts settings should include options such as “When a post is published/updated, also clear the cache for [user-specified]”

there is no way except clearing all cache because the pages are saved as a static html file.

So that is your recommendation for how to use the plugin for a blog?
    How spectacularly unhelpful.
If you have to clear the whole cache every time you do a blog post then this plugin cannot be considered fit for purpose, as no caching would be taking place! What do you think?
I think at minimum, you should provide a feature to rebuild the cache in the background after a new or updated post

you don’t have to clear cache. “Restart Preload” feature generates caches again. Please take a look at the following tutorial.
