I am on the latest version of WP and noticed that the widgets in Sensei are still in legacy mode. Is there a date on when this is going to change? This because I would like to use the features in WP to alter CSS in attributes.

In Gutenberg I can add the module blocks but I want to set them standard to uncollapsed?

With regard to the module blocks and displaying them in a course. I have a course with 8 modules and a lot of lessons but I cannot change their location e.g. put them in columns. I assume I need to create a new theme for this?

Quick follow up: Gutenberg gives a: Your site doesn’t include support for block
    For Sensei blocks.

    Hi @scordisian,

Thanks for reaching out. To answer your questions

I am on the latest version of WP and noticed that the widgets in Sensei are still in legacy mode. Is there a date on when this is going to change?

This is in the works, our developers are working on moving all the Sensei content including the Widgets to use the new block editor. You can follow along with the development here https://github.com/Automattic/sensei/issues

In Gutenberg I can add the module blocks but I want to set them standard to uncollapsed?

Sensei modules in both the Gutenberg editor as well as the frontend show uncollapsed/open by default. Are they showing up as collapsed on your site?

Could you share a screenshot so we can see what you’re describing?

You can create screenshots using something like [Snipboard](https://snipboard.io) or [Imgur](https://imgur.com) and post the link here.

I assume I need to create a new theme for this?

With the current version of Sensei yes you will need to make changes in your theme and override some of the Sensei template files for showing the modules in columns.

To get started with template overrides please refer to this guide https://senseilms.com/documentation/theming/

Gutenberg gives a: Your site doesn’t include support for block For Sensei blocks.

It’s possible that there might be a conflict with one of your current plugins or your theme.

Try disabling all of your plugins except Sensei LMS (and extensions). Then try testing again to see if the issue persists. If that resolves your issue, you can find what was causing it by enabling each plugin one by one while continuing to test.

If that doesn’t help, you can also try switching to the Twenty Twenty theme via Appearance > Themes, and test again. If the issue is resolved then you know it’s a problem with the theme, and you’ll need to contact the theme author for further assistance.

Let us know how it goes.

    Hi @gaurav984 rav,

Ah that is nice to know, so I can track it.

With regard to the blocks here is a screenshot: https://snipboard.io/ERpAsN.jpg
And yes I run the latest stable version of WP and Sensei. I did disable all other plugins.

With regard to the module blocks, my bad, they are standard open but I want to have them set to close. What would be the best way to approach this, CSS? I am working on a new custom child theme for Bootstrap but I debug this now via the Twenty Twenty theme.

    THnx.

    Hi @scordisian,

Please note that our support policy does not include assistance with customizations, so we will be unable to assist with modifying or debugging custom code, including changing the way the module blocks work. You can read more about our support policy and customization here:

Regarding the screenshot you attached, can you confirm that you are using the Twenty Twenty theme when you are seeing the error? I have tested this on my site, but couldn’t replicate your issue. Here are the steps I’ve taken:

    – Disable all plugins except Sensei
    – Using Twenty Twenty theme
    – With WordPress 5.8.3 and Sensei 3.14
    – Selected Create New Course and found no error (screenshot attached)

    https://snipboard.io/i0nOQs.jpg

Can you kindly share with us the exact steps you took that showed the error? Please share screenshots of your setup as well so we can copy it and see if we can replicate this issue.

If you haven’t already done so, I recommend temporarily deactivating and re-activating Sensei.

Let us know how that goes!

    Yes, I can confirm.

    Ok small rant, nothing personal.
I got Sensei and added the paid courses module and the subscriptions module and spend hours getting things to work.

I reinstalled WP, customized only the wrappers to get things working layout wise. The error was on a clean install with Twenty twenty.
    But……

I cam to the conclusion that after spending hours and a lot of money on this I decided it is time to move to a paid script that does it all and just simply works. I am sorry guys, I am all in for open source with paid premium stuff but there is no support, not even good support for the paid addons (which are overpriced IMO). I switched to Learndash because time and money wise it is just better.

I have to concentrate on getting my business working.
