” Widget edit page is blank white.”

Errors like this are logged. Check the error log on your server. If you can’t find the log, please contact your host.

Meantime, enable wp_debug and wp_debug_log and after an error, look at wp-content/debug.log to see if anything gets logged there. https://www.ads-software.com/support/article/debugging-in-wordpress/

You can also try this: Please attempt to disable all plugins, and use one of the default (Twenty*) themes. If the problem goes away, enable them one by one to identify the source of your troubles.

If you cannot access wp-admin, there are other ways to deactivate plugins:? https://www.ads-software.com/support/article/faq-troubleshooting/#how-to-deactivate-all-plugins-when-not-able-to-access-the-administrative-menus

    Thank you.

I tried several of the twenty themes, including the latest one.

When I try to use the new beta theme editor on 2022 that whole page is also blank.

This is with all the plugins disabled.

I tried logging in with a Firefox build and get a 400 error, even with plugins disabled.

I think the issue comes down to Automattic deciding that everyone uses unprotected Chrome-based browsers that are allowed to connect to anything Google or Automattic and I refuse to do that. I imagine that the corporate people they are serving mostly do use some form of Chrome.

I can remember when using WordPress was a joy, it was useful and fluent. I have used it since 2004, shortly after the first version was released. Ever since the reimagining and Gutenberg it has degraded in usefulness.

Look out, sharks below. Are those forks ahead? Looks like it.

Twentytwentytwo is an FSE theme, so doesn’t support a “widget area”.

    Did you enable debugging?

Thank you Steve Stern, I greatly appreciate your kind help!

I found Classic Press and migrated my site to it just now.

My Widget panel suddenly works again and so does my favorite old photo posting plugin, Nextcellent Gallery.

I am migrating all my sites to CP so I won’t be disturbing these forums further.

I get that WP is headed in a corporate direction, fair winds to them and their bonny chests of gold.

I just wanna post my photos and writing and now I can again without getting angry at things failing. :^)
