I added widgets archive and categories to page using gutenberg. In frontend they are shown. But when I deactivate gutenberg there are no widgets in frontend!!!
So if pages or posts are created with gutenberg there is no way back?
I think that is a bug but not a feature.
    Thank you

  • Hi @oekoplatt,

Adding widgets like Archives and Categories right into the page content is an enhancement made possible by Gutenberg. So when you deactivate the Gutenberg plugin, the parts of the content that don’t have an equivalent in the Classic editor won’t appear anymore. Similar to turning off a contact form plugin and not having the contact form appear anymore.

Was there a particular issue that made you decide to turn Gutenberg off?

I have many text in posts including “CO2” and couldn’t find a acceptable way to format CO2. In this case TinyMCE including user-defined buttons is more comfortable.

    Hi @oekoplatt,

Thanks for the details, I completely understand. Just as an FYI, I did a little bit of research on this, and there will be a way to have additional formatting buttons such as subtext and supertext, but right now it’s still a work-in-progress.
