• Hi and good day,

    Black Lines Issues with WordPress Widgets 2021-10-06

    The problem happened when – in the Block editor – with the little snake-like symbol – I moved widget parts (first the title and then the linked pages) down / up to the other container: from the ‘sidebar right’ to the ‘sidebar left.’ (I wanted the Recent Posts at the top it made sense, not the Archive.)

    WordPress produced Black Lines, which I could not get rid of even with CUSTOM CSS such as no-top-border {border-top: none !important; } provided by a WP consultant here in Sweden.

    If I could, I would delete all widgets and start over with those widgets as provided by Colinear, but I don’t think this is even possible?

  • Hi there,

    It is possible, by activating this plugin on your site: https://www.ads-software.com/plugins/classic-widgets/

    To clarify, the WordPress project is switching to block-based widgets, which this theme was not designed to support. You can hide the lines in your widget using the following CSS, but ultimately we’d recommend switching to a newer theme for the best experience when working with blocks.

    #block-6,
    #block-12 {
        border-top: none;
    }

    Let us know if you need further assistance or if you have any questions.

    Hi Jerry,

    Thank you, this helped a lot (only some whitespace left, but is ok)

    Actually I’ve been looking for a similar, a rather simple and not expensive/ free theme like Colinear, but there are thousands with stuff like parallaxes, a lot of images…

    Maybe you can recommend 1 or 2?

    We don’t sell, we have texts (not a blog) and images of course, but no animations.

    I’m still quite new with WP.

    (maybe for another thread?)

    Hello there,

    Generally we don’t recommend themes one over the other.

    Is there a website out there you like the look of? Maybe we can offer some insights.

    Hej Adam,

    Thank you, I got it.

    How does one know what the various themes have to offer?

    When looking at those many different themes one will of course get a first impression of regarding the graphic design, but how do those themes differ regarding other properties, and which are those? – so it is rather difficult to know what the various themes have to offer.

    Especially if one would like to invest some coins.

    Is there some place where to discuss themes?

    You’re welcome to discuss them in the general forum, I’d guess! Here’s one for “everything else”:
    https://www.ads-software.com/support/forum/miscellaneous/

    Our subforum here is primarily for Colinear.

    The newer block-based full-site editor themes are designed so the features come from blocks rather than from the theme itself, which should give you a bit more flexibility in making a choice.
