Hi There, Theother day the widgets bundle just went all weird and said it was unable to update and it will be deactivated, so it removed the entire plugin from my installed area.

I found a thread on your forum about deleting the folder so that we can reinstall it which i did and then i reinstalled it successfully, now it has slowed my website down dramatically and I had to deactivate the plugin for my website to load correctly.

How do i fix this issue please?

    Thanks

    Hi kovetania,

Can you please link me to your website so I can run some tests against it to confirm where the performance issues are coming from?

Also, can you please outline the exact steps you took to remove and reinstall SiteOrigin Widgets Bundle? Also, just to confirm, you see the plugin correctly listed at WP Admin > Plugins > Installed Plugins now, right?

Hi There, I used WP Admin > Installed Plugins > SiteOrigin > Deactivate > Delete – This is what i did to remove the plugin.

    https://www.dfsi.co.nz is the website

I have since restored my back up from before the plugin updated and it is working perfectly fine no issues and its not sending my I/O usage through the roof, so its when i did the new update that this issue occured.

    Hi kovetania,

Can you please try updating again? I ask because I suspect there was a general update issue (as in, an issue with the actual process, not the plugin) previously.

If that doesn’t help, can you try disabling all non-SiteOrigin plugins and see if this fixes the issue? You’ll need to clear all your caches after disabling your plugins.

If it does fix the issue, then try re-enabling your plugins one by one until the issue comes back. This procedure will help diagnose which plugin is causing the issue.

Once we know that, we’ll be able to look at what might be causing the conflict and either solve the problem or help you find an alternative plugin.

If you aren’t using a SiteOrigin theme, then you can also try temporarily switching to one of the default WordPress themes to see if the issue is theme related.

Hi There, It appears to only be the SO Widgets bundle as I updated it and i lost my words in the front end and it sent my IO usage through the roof.

I have since done a backup of just before the update of that plugin and its fine

    Hi kovetania,

Can you please try updating SiteOrigin Widgets Bundle and running the above test? I ask as no one else has reported this issue, so at this time it’s very likely there’s something very specific about your setup that’s causing you issues. What that specific cause is, we’re not sure. You really need to run the above test because we really can’t work towards fixing this issue until we know the cause of your issue.

Hi There, I did do as the above and the same thing happened so i had to undo the update and restore a back up from days ago again to get my website back up for customers as its live ??

I disabled everything and cleared caches and reactivated one by one but before i reactivated my other plugins i only activated SO Widgets and the same thing happened, no words on front end and slowed my website down dramatically.

I did see on the SO forum that this issue has happened before to someone else im not sure what the outcome was on theirs as the convo went private but it sounded the exact same thing as to what im experiencing

If you are not able to fix it thats ok ill just stick with the 1.11.7 version which is working perfectly and no issues ?? Thanks though

    Hi kovetania,

I can assure you, there are no widespread performance issues with the latest version of SiteOrigin Widgets Bundle. While a few threads may suggest this when there are major issues (such as performance issues) we’ll receive hundreds of threads that align with this. Besides this thread, I can only think of a single other thread that’s was similar and that was a general issue with their assets (specifically, they had massive images) so it’s unrelated to the issue you’re facing.

Regardless, at this stage, we really need to run some tests on your website to work out why this is happening. This will require information that cannot be changed on www.ads-software.com due to WP.org policies. To proceed, you’ll need to open a thread on our forums – please link me to the thread.

Please note that if this issue isn’t resolved, it’s possible you won’t be able to update in the future without experiencing similar issues. As such, I strongly recommend proceeding rather than sticking with 1.11.7.

its ok if its not fixable it must just be a one off random plugin error that i cant use.

    Thanks for your help anyway
