Widgets disappeared – in side bar and in "inactive widgets"

  • Just noticed that some widgets (all were Text Widgets with custom HTML and JavaScript) are missing from my sidebar. Also, virtually All Inactive Widgets are no longer there in the Admin area

    This happened recently but don’t know exactly when. Any idea what could have caused this. I have not been posting much on the blog over the last 3 weeks, so am not sure exactly when this happened.

    And as far as I can tell, there is no way to find out! How can I restore them — given they were custom html I can’t simply recreate them.

    I’ve trying a restore from Vaultpress, but it’s been running for a couple of hours and still reads 0% for “Restoring Database” ??

    That’s another issue I need to take up with the WP folks.
