I just installed Widget Context and was almost finished hiding widgets on target pages when all the widgets disappeared on the right sidebar on one page (only one page). The default word press sidebar widgets that are displayed before sidebars are created are back. All other widgets on other pages are all where they are supposed to be and widgets hidden on pages are hidden.

I was thinking I would have to recreate the page, but not sure if the same thing will happen if I use the same slug on the new page. I deactivated he widget context plugin.
All the widgets are back, but there are too many and I need to hide some.

I re-activated the plugn and the problem is back. I will delete and reinstall the plugin, but I fear the damage may already be in the WP data base.

Has anyone seen this? Any idea how to resolve? The plugin was working great until!

    Thanks,

    Roger

    Hi Roger!

Thanks for reporting the issue. Could you please confirm the steps to replicate the issue?

Could it be that one of those pages use a custom page template that doesn’t include the specific sidebar? Also, sometimes themes add a set of default widgets if no widgets are set to visible.

    Hi Kaspars,

Thanks much for the reply. I didn’t understand how to set up the widgets and set it up wrong. Not sure exactly what I did, but I reset all widgets to display on selected pages and all is working well. Nice little plugin. Thanks again.

    Roger
