    Hi guys

I have a major problem – yesterday i was doing the finishing touches to my site, when all of a sudden all my widgets disappeared.
When I go the “widgets” section in customize, I get a message thats says, in Danish, that there’s not been generated or displayed any widgets in preview-mode.

Hope I explained it well enough.

    Best regards, NT

    Hey

Is it possible to get an update on this?
My site is there days past its deadline ??

And i’m not getting any respons on customizr’s Facebook ??

    Best regards, Nicolai

    Hello,
what do you mean with widgets disappeared, can you elaborate a little more?
Do you mean that your widget areas are empty, while they were populated days ago?
Do you see available widgets (even if not added to the widget areas) in Appearance -> Widgets?
Could you check if they are among the Inactive Widgets (always in Appearance -> Widgets).

Anyway this looks more a db related issue, some corruption happened, maybe.
The theme itself uses standard wp api to build widget areas and to retrieve the widgets added within, it doesn’t mess with the db..

I had widgets on my front page, in the buttom – all of a sudden, they stopped working, and I got this long error-message in the buttom, where they(the widgets) used to be. This is the error I get in the buttom of my front page:

    Fatal error: Uncaught Exception: parse error: failed at @border_color: ; line: 5 in /var/www/traneweb.dk/public_html/wp-content/plugins/so-widgets-bundle/base/inc/lessc.inc.php:3460 Stack trace: #0 /var/www/traneweb.dk/public_html/wp-content/plugins/so-widgets-bundle/base/inc/lessc.inc.php(2273): lessc_parser->throwError() #1 /var/www/traneweb.dk/public_html/wp-content/plugins/so-widgets-bundle/base/inc/lessc.inc.php(1795): lessc_parser->parse(‘\n\n.so-widget-so…’) #2 /var/www/traneweb.dk/public_html/wp-content/plugins/so-widgets-bundle/base/siteorigin-widget.class.php(629): lessc->compile(‘\n\n.so-widget-so…’) #3 /var/www/traneweb.dk/public_html/wp-content/plugins/so-widgets-bundle/base/siteorigin-widget.class.php(188): SiteOrigin_Widget->get_instance_css(Array) #4 /var/www/traneweb.dk/public_html/wp-content/plugins/so-widgets-bundle/base/siteorigin-widget.class.php(117): SiteOrigin_Widget->generate_and_enqueue_instance_styles(Array) #5 /var/www/traneweb.dk/public_html/wp-includes/class-wp-widget.php(347): SiteOrig in /var/www/traneweb.dk/public_html/wp-content/plugins/so-widgets-bundle/base/inc/lessc.inc.php on line 3460

And when I go to Appearance -> Customize -> Widgets, i.e. the theme, I get this message in Danish:

“Der genereres og vises i ?jeblikket ingen widgetomr?der i forh?ndsvisningen. Navigér i forh?ndsvisningen til en skabelon, der bruger et widgetomr?de, for at f? adgang til dens widgets her.”

Roughly translated, it says that there isn’t being generated or displayed any widget areas in the preview-mode. Navigate the preview to a template that uses a widget area to access its widgets here.

All the Widgets that I use, are active – I haven’t even touched that section ??

    Thanks for the additional info.
So you have an error report which says:
Fatal error: Uncaught Exception: parse error: failed at @border_color: ; line: 5 in /var/www/traneweb.dk/public_html/wp-content/plugins/so-widgets-bundle/base/inc/lessc.inc.php:3460 Stack trace: #0 /var/www/traneweb.dk/public_html/wp-content/plugins/so-widgets-bundle/base/inc/lessc.inc.php(2273):
    and so on.

So it looks like it depends on the so-widgets-bundle plugin.
Does this happen only with this theme (it could be a plugin conflicting issue)?
    If not:
Did you ask to their support?

    Thanks for the quick respons-time!

I have tried everything, even deactivating the widget-bundle, and it doesn’t do anything, and I still cant access the Widget-function that comes with the theme.

It worked fine for several days, and then, out of nothing, after I saved the site, it stopped working – No update or any obvious reason.

I was told in another forum, That is was a theme-related problem, since the Widget-function isn’t accessable.

But the developer of the widget-bundle, doesn’t offer a solution.

    Mmm,
I see what you mean, but clearly the error you paste is from that plugin.
If you disable it you’ll not have that error, do you have any other error?
Did you try disabling all your plugins?
Consider that the widget section in the customizer (appearance -> customize) is added by wp via js basically at the end of the customizer settings loading (after other js), so if something (js/php) error occurs .. that section might be not loaded (it depends on where the break occurs).

It might also be a theme problem, or a plugin conflicting issue with the theme (in this case it’s not necessary a theme problem :D).

    Widget section works fine here.
So the only thing you can do is
    – disable all your plugins and see if it still happens
    – switch to a standard wp theme (like twentyfifteen) and see if it still happens.

    Another thing.. this message:
“Der genereres og vises i ?jeblikket ingen widgetomr?der i forh?ndsvisningen. Navigér i forh?ndsvisningen til en skabelon, der bruger et widgetomr?de, for at f? adgang til dens widgets her.”

Does the page you see in the preview have any widget area? A right/left sidebar, the footer.
You use a maintenance plugin, do you display it in the preview?
Consider that the widget section is “contextualized” if you don’t have any widget area in the preview page it will display that message, this doesn’t mean there’s something wrong, you just need to access the customizer from a page which has widget areas, or navigate through them in the preview.

    Hope this helps.

I finally made progress – I deactivated the plugin and that did the trick.

That just ment that I had to redesign my entire page.

    I’m marking this as resolved

    Thx for the help guys
