My problem is, as the title states, that my widgets in the dashboard aren’t dragging and dropping. The four sided arrow shows up, but clicking does nothing. Also, the little buttons on the top right: ‘screen options’ and ‘help’ don’t work. Yhe widgets used to work when I first installed wordpress, but stopped working after I made a few adjustments. Even a re-install of the wordpress folder didn’t fix it. Also, the drag and drop on the dashboard home page works perfectly.

I am currently running wordpress 3.0.1 on a localhost using wamp. I am using the default ‘wordpress 2010’ 1.1 theme, have only the default and upgraded ‘akismet’ and ‘hello dolly’ plug-ins installed and set to inactive, and all code set to default.

I first installed wordpress a few days ago and the widgets worked. However, after messing around with the code a little today, I saw my widgets weren’t working anymore, I have tried firefox, chrome, and ie to no avail. I have tried replacing the wordpress files with the defaults to no avail.

I have tried looking around the internet for answers, but the closest match I had was:

    “Esmi!!!

I’ve found it!! This never would have come to me in a million years, it was just a sudden flash of I don’t know what…

It’s IIS7’s Output Cache! Having the .php extension there was killing it, quite why or how that would affect JavaScript. I don’t know, but that was it!!

Thank you for your time and feedback on this. It was making no sense to me after everything I’d tried.

WordPress is still the world’s Uber blogging platform – Yay!”

Nevermind. I was fortunate to find the answer. I had to, strangely enough, install the Use Google Libraries plugin, as recommended by a user from this message:

Im still having the same problem but only with the Purple pastels theme. Can a theme prohibit you from removing a widget? I don’t want the recent post and archive widgets in the sidebar, only links. I have the google libraries activated and there is not a problem with other themes, just this one. Anyone know how I can determine if the theme is preventing me from removing the archive, search and recent posts?

I too am having the same problem with Purple Pastels Theme. I have the Goodle Libraries activated and still no resolution.

I am getting the same problem!

I am not able to drag widgets over to the sidebar area or even adjust the widgets that are already in the sidebar.
I updated my wordpress to 3.1.3. and before that I had installed a shopping cart plugin, don’t know if they would have caused an issue?

I also just recently had my site back up after an internal server error where there was an issue with the htaccess file, but my server fixed that, however since then things haven’t been how they were.

Can some1 help? I need my widgets!

Im having this very same problem, and my collapsable widget sidebar has even disappeared, so even if i could drag my widgets over i dont have anything to drag them onto! Please help!

solved it, it was my Tweet & Like plug in, as soon as i deactivated it my widgets were back, doh!!

I am having the drag and drop issue as well. the arrows come on and nothing…I havent added or changed anything. Any Ideas????
