  • It’s as if there is no widgets at all. Both in sidebar area and footer area are now theme default when there are no widgets.

Did you drag widgets into both area at all ?

I even tried uploading the andrina lite theme, and it has the same issue.

Try with all plugin deactivated, to see if it’s conflict issue.

    Try with default TwentyTwelve theme.

It could be a defect WP installation, like not completed file transfer during upgraded.

I did the plug in thing first off.

With Twenty Twelve the widgets are there.

    What does that mean?

I did the plug in thing first off.

With Twenty Twelve the widgets are there.

It means that this has nothing to do with plugin conflicts, also WP core file works properly.

Are you aware that when changing theme, widgets in the sidebar might not carry over from theme to theme ? So it needs to get setup again, redrag into sidebar position according to theme and click save again.

If all done right, then the only suspect left is that theme file is not complete.

Ok. I did move the sidebars over in the new theme. I guess the theme file must not be complete.

Oh well. Too much headache. I’m searching for a new theme. Again. ??

Thank you for your help! ??

I just tested this theme in my local dev, both sidebar on the side and in the footer area work normally. It displays widgets fine.

    1. Temporary switch to (activate) Twentytwelve.
    2. Click delete that theme.
    3. Switch to Install Themes tab, search this theme
    4. Click Install.
    5. Click Activate.
