  • I am having the same problem as @zergix. In the sidebar on my blog’s home page, it is only showing me as being logged in. It is not showing any guests or any bots. If I go to any other page on my blog, the very same problem exists. It only shows me as being on the blog.

My OnlineUsers page still exists, and if I go to it by typing in the URL in a new web browser tab, it does show me who is currently logged in, both myself, guests and bots.

I am using the latest update of your plugin, as well as the latest version of WordPress.

Even resetting all of the plugin’s settings to their defaults does not help.

Same here, Online Users widget disappeared I think it’s a bug after the new update. I hope they fix it asap!!

As I said above, the plugin itself still appears to be working, because going to the OnlineUsers page does show the current users, whether admin, guest or bot.

It seems that just the widget part in the sidebar is not working properly.

Something else I immediately noticed with the most recent WP update is that the font size suddenly shrunk to a much smaller size. I am thinking I need to go into the CSS editor to fix it.

    Hello,

I have the same problem, the widget has disappeared and is invisible.

It’s impossible to reactivate it when you go to Appearance / Widgets.

As I mentioned previously, with the recent update, the appearance of my blog changed drastically. For example, the font size shrunk down dramatically in a number of different places.

Well, I finally found time to investigate further, and what I just discovered is that with the most recent WP update, all of my custom CSS code had been totally deleted from the CSS editor, so I had to copy and paste it back in again. This is one good reason to keep backup copies of all of your blog alterations.

Anyway, I don’t believe that this has anything to do with the WP UsersOnline plugin. My CSS code disappearing was apparently the result of the update to WP itself.

In fact, I would dare say that the reason why the WP UsersOnline plugin is also now broken is also due to the WP 6.7.1 update as well.

    Hello everyone,

I also think that the problem comes from the last WordPress update because I tried several previous versions of WP-UserOnline and it doesn’t work either.

In the meantime, I’ve installed another extension.

    Christophe

Christophe, thanks for sharing that piece of info regarding trying a previous version of WP UsersOnline. I had considering doing the same thing. Now I won’t have to waste time doing that. Hopefully, the developer will find a way to fix this issue soon.

So it seems the 6.7.1 update has broken a few different things.

I guess this is the end for this plugin. No updates from the author, he must be busy.

@supermagicien , what plugin did you switch to? I may have to do the same thing if this developer is not going to fix his plugin soon.

    Hello Bill,

    i use this : https://www.ads-software.com/plugins/cbxuseronline/

    Christophe

Thanks, Christophe. I installed it, activated it and put it in my sidebar.

While the widget is showing, it does not appear to be working because all of the different stats are showing zeroes. I changed the time interval from 3,600 seconds to 600 seconds to see if that would make any difference. It didn’t. Everything is still all zeroes. Any ideas?

    Hello,

    I think it’s the interval that’s wrong, I put 60.

    Christophe

Thanks, but changing it to 60 did not help. All stats remain zeroes, and the time stamp at the end of them remains the same time as when I first installed the plugin over three hours ago.

Furthermore, if I go to the plugin’s setting screen and tap on “Refresh Now”, it throws me an error which says “User online record log purged failed”.

So, apparently something else is going on here.

Also, before activating the CBX plugin, I deactivated the WP UserOnline plugin to make sure that there is no conflict between them, but I still have the WP UserOnline plugin installed.

    Hello Bill,

if I were you, I’d reinstall wponline, then delete it via FTP.

Check also that you don’t have a cache plugin that would keep data for several hours.

    Christophe

Christophe, I don’t have to use FTP because I do things manually and locally, because my web server where my website and blog are running is in my home. I just drag new plugins into the “plugins” folder and then click on the “Activate” link on the “ Installed Plugins” page.

Anyway, as I said previously, I still had WP-UserOnline installed. It was just deactivated. However, just now I deleted the WP plugin and its data.

Then I tapped again on the “Refresh Now” button for the CBX plugin, and it is still resulting in the same aforementioned error.

Now that WP-UserOnline is deleted, I am going to delete the CBX plugin as well, and then reinstall it. However, I suspect that doing that is not going to resolve the issue. Something else is going on here, I think.
