    Hello all..

I was hoping that one of the kindly volunteers here can help me. I’ve been having some problems loading my widgets, and tried to solve the issue(s) myself. However, I reached an impasse once I seen what I was up against.

Looking into the wp-admin.php file, I seen that I had a lot of error codes; one in particular seems to be particularly troublesome:

    Timestamp: 3/3/2013 2:56:41 PM
Error: The character encoding of the HTML document was not declared. The document will render with garbled text in some browser configurations if the document contains characters from outside the US-ASCII range. The character encoding of the page must be declared in the document or in the transfer protocol.

Can someone please assist me in figuring out what exactly is wrong here? I would certainly appreciate the effort.

As I have copied that, and as I type this, all my plugins are turned OFF. My blog is https://reviewster.org

You can’t check a php file with a html validator.

Your site does have errors as shown here, https://validator.w3.org/check?verbose=1&uri=http%3a%2f%2freviewster.org%2fheartoftheswarm%2f mostly minor.

The widget problem. Please explain what is happening.

Sure, and ty for your timely reply! ??

There are two distinct issues, which I suspect are inter-related. First, the Main and Showcase Sidebar widgets aren’t updating at all (even after saving any changes); the only area that seems to be functional is the footer areas.

Secondly, I cannot get most of the widgets (the standard ones that came with the WP install) to work/show on the page, even in the footer sections.

I have tried on multiple browsers and cleared my cache, but still no result.

Hope that clears some things up…
