Widgets page not fuctional

  • Hi all,

    Here with WordPress 6.2.2 running Twentyeleven Child theme. The widget page started showing blank for me. I have installed the Classics Widget plugin and it fixed the problem partially. Now, the widgets appear but I am not able to edit or drag/drop them. Here are the troubleshooting I have performed.

    1. I have disabled all other plugins. No go.
    2. I changed the theme. No go. Nevertheless it caused some widgets to break after swicthing back to the child theme.
    3. I have cleared the cache and that didn’t help. I have updated browser and tried in three different ones and still the same issue.

    It’s worth noting that my editor also doesn’t work. I had to install the classic editor to load the pages but even then the TinyMICE editor doesn’t load properly. Thanks!

    Hi @absnzyg,

    I’ve been testing this out with a fresh site using TwentyEleven and, so far, have been unable to recreate the issue.

    The fact that you are seeing impact across different parts of the site (editing widgets, the performance of tinyMCE) suggests there’s definitely something more going on. When I view your site – I do see a few errors which indicate they are server-level errors.

    One thing I’d recommend doing is reaching out to your host – to see if they have any information.

    When you changed theme – was this trying the original TwentyEleven theme, rather than your child theme?

    Also – could you please provide the following information to help us better understand how to replicate the issue:

    – What version of WordPress are you using?
    – If you also have the standalone Gutenberg plugin active, what version is it?
    – Is the issue present with all your plugins temporarily deactivated? You can use the Health Check plugin for this, which will not change your live site – https://www.ads-software.com/plugins/health-check/
    – Is the issue present with a default theme? Again, you can use the Health Check plugin for this.
