Widgets to be multlingual

Hi guys
While setting up the second language on my sisters’ wordpress page I was not able to define widgets per language. In contrast to the description in chapter 2.2.1.1 of the documenation: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1y_c25pWDedi4FghjWj7W2Qleb-JsC10fGFinw4hy8T0/edit# I do not see any selectable dropdown for any widgets.
Could you please help me.
