First, I love this theme. It looks wonderful and is a breeze to set up. Thank you for all the hard work that goes into it.

My only question is this: How can I make it display at full width on a cell phone screen? Currently, it only displays at about 75% width on a screen (iPhone 6s). This is only an issue while the phone is vertical. Turn the phone on its side and the screen goes full width.

I’ve read through every support post with the word “mobile” in the title and have found nothing. I use the Blocks widget on the front page and saw a response regarding tables “breaking” the mobile display but I don’t think this quite counts as a table.

Thank you in advance for any help you may be able to offer. I know nothing about CSS. Had this been an “obvious,” minor HTML problem, I may have been able to fix it myself…

    Thanks,
    Chris

@cm.rudd Looks like you are using the “Full width” layout now. can you please switch to fixed width and let us know here?

    Thanks

I changed it to “Boxed,” the only other option. I adjusted the box to 100% width and while the desktop version looks normal (now that it’s 100%), the mobile still looks the same, only taking up about 75% of the screen with a large white space to the right. However, in the title text, the word “Discovering” goes fully across the screen.

Following. I have exactly the same problem!

Try adding this to your Custom CSS:

    @media screen and (max-width: 960px){.site_boxed .center { width: 75%!important;margin: 0 auto;}
    }

    Regards

Did it work for you @cm.rudd?

I’m completely new to this and did not dare to try it out.
Please @layerthemes could you take a look at my site as there might be an easier solution for me/us?

    Thanks,

    Hi!

I’m very sorry! I never saw this post, nor did I receive a notification for it like I had the previous posts.

Unfortunately, this does not fix the problem either. It actually shrinks the website a little more. I played with the width % and never could get to stretch across the screen. Even at 100%, it looked as it did originally.

I’ve left the code you gave me pasted exactly as you typed above and saved/published so you can see the results.

    Any other ideas?

    Thanks
    Chris

Edit: If you’ll look at it on a mobile device (I’m using an iPhone 6S), you’ll see exactly what I mean. The body of the page only covers about 75% of the screen with a large “margin” to the right. However, the title “Discovering Purpose” goes full width on the screen. Odd.

@cm.rudd Sorry I misunderstood your question earlier. The website is not full width because of 2 reasons:

    1. You are using a youtube video which is not responsive by default, you will have to either use the PRO version to make it responsive or use a responsive video embed plugin.

    2. The Site title font size is too big. Reduce the font size.

    Regards

Yes I found out yesterday that it was the title in the header that was too big. I reduced the size from 60px to 40px and now it’s perfect.

I hope it will work for you too @cm.rudd

    Thanks!

The YouTube video is not the cause of the problem, although it has caused a bit more squeezing. It was just added today and the problem has existed from day 1.

I’ll adjust the title font size and get back to you.

    Thanks

I adjusted the font size of the title text and it seems to look right on my iPhone 6S. I’ll have to look at a friend’s windows phone and droid phone to make sure but it appears that everything is working great!

Thank you so much for the assistance!

Might you be able to recommend a responsive YouTube plug-in so that the width will remain appropriate? The one I am using is listed as responsive but as you stated, does mess up the display on mobile devices. I’m currently using a plug-in simply named “YouTube.”

Thanks again for all the help!
    -Chris

    Edit:
Just swapped to “YouTube Embed” plug-in and played around until I figured out how to get the shortcode correct to turn on responsive. Figured it out. Everything looks great!!
Thanks for all the help! Excellent customer service!
