• An absolutely brilliant plugin for collaboration projects and having other members help each other. For a long time I’ve wanted to provide a community of information with the greatest level of contribution access. Figuring out whether to go full wiki or selectively allow authors to create amazing pages had their pros/cons. Wikis allow for all members to contribute but lack progressive peer review while private ownership put too much responsibility on authors who maintain popular projects/places followed by potential for mediocre content. Thankfully Revisions Pro does an amazing job bridging community collaboration. Now members can contribute revisions to other people’s detailed posts followed by the post author being able to accept/reject those changes quickly. Compare view automatically highlights what has changed while frontend preview allows an exact view of what the approval would look like. Queue view allows you to swiftly see what revisions are made on your posts, what’s pending, and a birds eye management view for administrators to step in. So if users are on vacation while great contributions are made to their post’s, admins can accept revisions on their behalf so that the “wiki” part of posts is managed by the right people.

I’ve worked with other workflow plugins, post forking, ect which have decent features; however they all lack the ease of access, previewing, filter views, and optional bells and whistles of PublishPress Revisions. Coupled with Permissions Pro I can assign which categories revisions should be allowed on so that personal blog posts can go on without suggestions. Also love the email notification system to give members a heads up. PublishPress is one of the best companies I’ve ever seen, giving expedient responses and taking on progressive innovation. They don’t settle for good enough, something everyone should aspire to.
