Will A Child Theme Work With The Free Theme?

  • Will a child theme work with the latest version of the free theme?

    I have the latest version of the free theme, the latest version of the companion plugin & the latest version of WordPress installed. When I visit the customizer to edit the home page it never loads, it just hangs with the message ‘Please wait, this might take a little while’.

    I have attempted to use the code provided in this previous support post but it no longer appears to work.

    Is there an updated piece of code required to be used in the functions.php of my child theme to allow it to work with the free parent theme?
