• This plugin has been bought out by a large company. I have made a point of staying away from this new companies plugins because they are bloated in my opinion.

Will the ALL SEO plugin remain the same in the coming months? Or are a bunch of features (that most don’t want) going to be added?

I think I speak for most of us when I say that what we really like most about this plugin is its simplicity and if that changes we will use a different plugin

  • This is devastating news. So surprised Michael did not post or give anyone a clue this was going and indeed has happened.

Here’s a link from a blog post by the new AIOSEO owner https://semperplugins.com/all-in-one-seo-is-now-part-of-the-awesome-motive-family/

Over ten years I’ve never seen a takeover go well. Expect ads, promotion of their other bloated plugins etc.

Actively now looking at other SEO plugins for when this happens.

I doubt we’ll get an actual reply with a direct answer to this question.

    Hey @atlas99,

Thanks for bringing this up. We value simplicity as well, and it is one of the values we’re using to guide the vision for the product.

I have been part of AIOSEOP even before the acquisition, and we’re now working in the product team to polish up the product while adding useful features that many of our users have been asking for.

Honestly, we’re all really excited now that we have more resources at our disposal to pursue the vision to make AIOSEOP even better.

Pretty much a canned response with no real answer to my question above.

“pursue the vision to make AIOSEOP even better”

When I read that, all I think of is just adding MonsterInsights type bloatware to an already successful, simple plugin

I am currently looking for an alternative, as I am sure this one will go to shit

Judging by what they have done to the Google Analytics Dashboard for WP plugin, I’d start looking for alternatives.
