• Hi, I have 2 installs of WP on the one domain

    domain.com/wp

    domain.com/2/wp

They are 2 different WP Installs and have the same theme (although different versions i.e. 2.0 and the other is 2.4)

The reason is that domain.com is used for certain things (i.e. blog, etc) and domain.com/2/wp used for others.

I was wondering how this affects things like SEO

i.e. will visits to both be counted as visits simply to the whole domain?
(I’ve installed the same GA Tracking code on both)…

Will clicking from say a landing page on domain/2/ to a link on domain.com be seen as a bounce?

Are there any other things I should be asking?

    Thanks for any advice.

  • If the content is different, it’s all good. Google (and other search services) don’t care what the site is built on, or how many installations there are. They only care about what’s served out to the public.

And no, as long as a user is staying on your site, it won’t be a bounce.

I guess you’d need to submit 2 site maps right?

    Yes. 2 sites = 2 sitemaps.
