Will I destory site by emptying page cache?

I am getting a message that I have activated/deactivated a plugin and need to empty my page cache and minify settings. I just want to make sure that if I do this, it will not destroy anything in site and that site will still be usable? I have the W3 Cache plugin and I have read about that with this error message, but I am not technical and would like some very detailed instrcutions.
