Will I get double tabs if I upgrade to premium and use the category feature?

Hello!
I’m currently using this plugin to inform the customer about the product brand (among other things). Thus so far, as I have the free version, I’ve added the “About: Brand” tabs to every single product. However I’m considering upgrading to the pro version, as I feel it’s more fool-proof to have the “brand” tabs assigned based on category/tags etc.
But will this also result in double tabs upon activation? Do I have to manually go and remove the tabs again, or is the plugin smart enough to recognize the same tab is already added?
