I just installed this plugin on my client’s website. We currently have certain images at twice their size in pixels to allow for Retina display. I’m nervous to click the “optimize image” option in your plugin because I’m afraid it is going to reduce all the images down to half their size and therefore will remove the Retina-ready images. Can you please explain what exactly it does to optimize the images?

    Hey @isign4jc

What “Image optimization” does is that it optimizes your existing images, by reducing their sizes, BUT keeps the same quality and size.

If you have concerns about the image optimization, you can create a backup of your uploads folder, then run the image optimization, and if there is something that you don’t like, you can restore the uploads folder only.

But I don’t think that you will notice any difference between original and optimized images.

    Regards,
    Stanimir
