Pardon me for asking, not one, but two “newbie” question . . . I am still learning Web publishing 101.

    1. I am concerned about “my” damaging my site by using this plugin, because I may not understand all the intricate matters. There are many warnings for that on another security plugin, and it scared me. I will back up my data base before installing the plugin, but I want to avoid headaches in the future too — Is it safe enough for a newbie to use?

    2. I use GoDaddy hosting and have my WP installed there. And, I plan to create a subdomain and install a forum software — I have a feeling it will have nothing to do with a different software, of course, or will it?

But, I thought it may help a bit because it will protect my “main” domain from attack . . . True?

Thank you for some “good” education here . . .

  • We don’t apply any security features when you activate this plugin. So it is safe to install and activate. It won’t cause any harm.

Next, our security features are labelled in terms of the difficulty level. If you only interact with the “Basic” ones, you shouldn’t have any issue. We also have a lot of info explaining things in the plugin.

Thank you! Crystal clear answer. I feel better.
I will go ahead and install it.

How about my second question? I have read the descriptions and instructions. But, I guess, I just did not “get it.”

Here is a copy of my question No. 2:

    2. I use GoDaddy hosting and have my WP installed there. And, I plan to create a subdomain and install a forum software — I have a feeling it will have nothing to do with a different software, of course, or will it?

I understand that it is a plugin for WP, but does it affect subdomains, since it is under my main domain? Will the plugin protect the main (parent) domain by hiding some codes, or somehow, and cover beyond WP? Or, it only affects WP software and has nothing to do with the domain itself?

Hope I am expressing my question clearly.

Help me connect a few more dots, please?

    Thanks.

Subdomains are actually considered a different domain. So that one will have it’s own set of rules and stuff. The plugin that you install in your WP won’t affect anything on your sub-domain. And yes it will only protect your WordPress install.

    Thank you !!!

It is much clearer how things work in my mind.

I also thank you for creating this awesome plugin. My blog is much safer, and I can sleep better every night.

    God Bless!
