When I install Automatic AMP, it causes the post to redirect and I don’t see the content of the page.

When I disable the Automatic AMP plug, I can access the page with /amp/, but it just renders the same page.

I think the problem is that Automatic AMP plugin which is required for your plugin to work is not compatible with my version of wordpress.

After some time the redirects stop because chrome identified endless redirect loops. The redirect happens on regular post pages, I didn’t have the option to check the AMP ones because of this.

    Hi idansh,

Thanks for reporting all of these findings! The PageFrog plugin definitely communicates with the Automatic AMP plugin, so it’s probably important to have your WordPress version updated.

Is there a particular reason why you haven’t updated your WordPress version? Is there anything I can do to help with that?

The problem with updating everything is that I am afraid that things will break. I did try upgrading it one, and it was a mass. Of course I need to spend one day to try to do it. I might spend time this week to do it one and for all.

A question: What your plugin gives that the Automatic plugins don’t? I’ve tested the Automatic plugin other site and it worked fine. Can you please give me more information about what you plugins does above the Automatic one and why you are dependent on it?

    Hi idansh,

The Automatic AMP plugin is a great simple plugin that does the basic job of converting your posts to AMP format. PageFrog is designed to provide all the features surrounding the publishing of AMP pages.

Here are a few things that PageFrog adds to the publishing experience:

    – Mobile previews in the post editor, allowing you to see how your page will look in AMP format while you write
    – Ad support, allowing you to connect your AdSense account and serve ad units in your AMP content
    – Analytics support, allowing you to connect your Google Analytics (and other platforms) account and track traffic on your AMP pages
    – The ability to enable/disable specific pages (other plugins are either enable or disable all posts without individual post flexibility)
    – Styling options for you to customize the AMP page with your own brand logo, font, and colors
    – Bundled with support for Facebook Instant Articles (and Apple News coming soon) so you can manage multiple mobile formats with a single plugin

Long story short, the PageFrog plugin actually uses the Automatic AMP plugin to perform the core basic task of optimizing posts for AMP while PageFrog itself adds all the very important elements listed above.
